2008 Furnishings from the FOL
In 2008 the Friends of the Library funded the purchase of several furniture items for the library. Included were a high table, high chairs, and comfy chairs for the Young Adult area, a nice red sofa and CD bin for the children's area, and step stools for the restrooms to make it easier for the smaller library users to reach the sinks.

Young Adult Area

The young adult area of the library was made just a little more welcoming with the addition of a high table and matching chairs and three comfy study chairs. The high table makes a nice place to study with a friend or two. The comfortable chairs have swing-out tables that make a convenient writing surface.

The young adult area is on the south end of the second floor of the library in the entrance area of the original Carnegie library.

Children's Area

Image Comfort was on the minds of the Friends of the Library this year. This theme carried over from the YA area to the Children's area with the addition of a welcoming an cushy new sofa. You can be sure it is rare to see this couch unoccupied.

Restrooms ImageSmall people were having trouble reaching the sink in the restrooms. I think we can all agree that this is not a good situation. The Friends of the Library stepped up and provided funding for two fine sets of steps, one for each of the restrooms. With these well-placed accessories, the small hands of the small people are able to get a big washing when ever the situation calls for it.

Credit where credit is due: The Friends of the Library funded these projects but, as always, it was the the dedicated library staff that made it all happen. The staff brought the needs to the attention of the FOL, suggested the solutions and then got it done.
