Spelling Bee 2008 = Huge Success

Eleven teams from Northfield area businesses and neighborhoods showed up to compete in The Bee this year. The competition was intense and there were some extremely talented spellers on hand. In the end, the competition ended in a tie that could not be broken; the words ran out before the speller's skill.

We want to extend a special thanks to everyone who made this event possible, including the Northfield Public Library, the Friends of the Library, and especially The Grand Event Center which co-sponsored the event.

The Bee is a fun event meant to bring together many who support and love the library, but it is also a fund raiser. This year the event raised just over $3000 which will be used to supporting the development and expansion of a business resource area at the library. This additional funding will greatly enhance the libraries ability to get information to job seekers and small business people.
