Booker, the Northfield Book Bus, brings books and stories to children
at their homes, daycares and in their neighborhoods. Children can check
out books and other materials and hear volunteers or staff read stories
to them. Diana Tallent, a talented storyteller, is the Outreach
Coordinator who drives the bookmobile and tells the stories. Diana is pictured above with the original Booker.
Booker makes many stops within the Northfield school district and
around Rice County providing library materials for all ages at Webster,
Lonsdale, Veseli, Morristown, Waterville and Warsaw. Call the
Children's Services Desk at 645-1804 to set up a new bookmobile stop or
to request a schedule. You can also call Booker's cell
phone, 507-321-1970, but this is only answered when Booker is out on
the route.
